Sprinkler Discharge Heads

Marine sprinkler systems utilise two types of discharge head. The type “A” pendent sprinkler is designed for mounting within accommodation areas with false ceilings. The type “A” upright sprinkler is generally used in areas used by crew members such as stairways, pantries and all other stores, service spaces and workshops outside the machinery area.

In the event of a fire, the sprinkler head is designed to give a density of not less than 5 litres per square metre per minute over the nominal area of coverage. The sprinkler bulb is designed to operate at a predetermined temperature depending on its location and working environment.
